Inspire Project Information

Inspiring Volunteers

Volunteering

This 2 year project aims to engage young people in volunteering, enabling them to develop skills in sport and thereby building the capacity of delivery of grassroots sports in communities.

Inspiring Volunteers will target 16 to 25 year olds from diverse communities and links with Rotherham’s ‘One Town, One Community’ message, with all young people taking on civic responsibility. Volunteers will gain recognised qualifications including level 1 NGB qualifications in various sports and will shadow RUCST community coaches to gain experience of sport delivery.

Project leaders aim to use London 2012 to inspire young people to volunteer in the community in the run up to the Games and well beyond.
