Ahead of the Game

On Tuesday 15th June Yorkshire Gold Business Club (YGBC) hosted a new and exciting business conference designed to inspire and encourage Yorkshire and Humber businesses to get 'fit to compete' for opportunities around London 2012 and the 'Decade of Sport'.

‘Ahead of the Game’ took place at Bradford Football club and was the first business event in Yorkshire to be recognised by the Inspire programme.
 
The 300 strong audience heard from a diverse range of inspiring speakers including Lord Sebastian Coe (Chair of the London 2012 Organising Committee) on the opportunities available and how businesses can get involved.

The 'Decade of Sport' includes the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games as well as an array of other championships taking place in the UK such as the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

It is hoped that this event will Inspire many business in Yorkshire and the Humber to get ‘fit to compete’ and capitalise on the multitude of business opportunities presented by the ‘decade of sport’.

The event was covered by a young reporter from ‘Supporter to Reporter’, one of the Inspire programme’s most innovative and Inspiring projects designed to provide opportunities for young people to report on London 2012 inspired events.
