We all care about Yorkshire, and we all want a London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games to remember – it’s these two desires that make up Yorkshire Gold. Right from the start, our region was backing London’s bid all the way – and just like a team event, we all want to share the hard work and the success.
Golden Opportunities
London 2012 presents the Yorkshire region with a fantastic opportunity to grow, and ultimately prosper from the legacies that will be left by the Games. Whether it’s sporting facilities being enjoyed by diverse and inclusive Yorkshire communities, helping Yorkshire businesses grow or making our region more active – Yorkshire Gold will be there to make this happen.
We’ve identified five Golden Opportunities that will help us reach our ultimate goal – not just running up to and during London 2012, but also for years to come. These are:

Like a well planned race strategy, our plan focuses on every stage of the challenge ahead. We see ten legacy targets that will be the tangible result of key actions under each opportunity. And like all budding Yorkshire Olympians, we’re going to start with a bang and make sure we finish first…
